Rosamond originally trained as a classical singer and later specialized in Yiddish song. Past projects and performances range from the contemporary cantata “Olagón: A Cantata in Doublespeak,” with Iarla Ó Lionáird and Eighth Blackbird, to new Yiddish art song with Alan Bern.
Her upcoming debut album is a duo project with guitarist Jordan White that combines new and traditional Yiddish songs with experimental jazz and electroacoustic music.
Broygeztants is a new project that has been described as a “goles [diaspora] klezmer chaos band,” featuring Rosamond van Wingerden (voice), Pieter Sint Nicolaas (trumpet and flugelhorn), Eddie Rosen (violin and viola), and Naum Sint Nicolaas (bass and voice). The ensemble combines klezmer, Yiddish song, and dance with semi-staged narrative.
As well as performing, Rosamond teaches Yiddish song workshops for adults and children of all experience levels, including at Yiddish Summer Weimar and the Fêtes des Musiques Juives (Belgium), and is a co-founder of the Brussels Yiddish Zingkrayz.

“The highlight of the program was a creative moment: while a newly-produced video was projected on a screen, Shoshana Simons read a new poem of hers and Rosamond van Wingerden hummed an improvised melody. Then we heard their magically sung duet of [Beyle] Schaechter-Gottesman’s song ‘Zilbershtern,’ accompanied by a violin solo by [Luise] Fakler. It was truly a harmony of and between generations.”
